Editing

I've been editing things in one way or another since I was a kid. I remember correcting my grade school teacher's spelling. In front of the entire class. And when I was in junior high school, I would copy edit my international penpals' letters to me and send them back. Oddly, after a few months, those penpals stopped writing to me.

Thank goodness I outgrew that annoying habit.

Editing for print is a matter of condensing words and sentences to fit on a page. Editing for the Web is about presenting content in a compact, yet readable way. Over the years, I've done a lot of each.

I have held senior editorial positions with The Industry Standard and Advertising Age and have been a content editor for a book published by Harvard Business School Press.
